How To Set Up PPPoE DSL Connections with a Linksys Router

To setup a Linksys router with a DSL connection, you need to perform four steps:

Connecting the Devices Together
After ensuring that you have an active Internet connection, connect the modem to the router’s Internet port and the computer to any of the four Ethernet ports.  For instructions, click [ندعوك للتسجيل في المنتدى أو التعريف بنفسك لمعاينة هذا الرابط].
Checking the LEDs

Setting Up a DSL ISP on a Linksys Router
NOTE:  The images below serve as examples only and may vary depending on the model of the router you are using.
[ندعوك للتسجيل في المنتدى أو التعريف بنفسك لمعاينة هذا الرابط] alt="" />For Telstra DSL Internet users, contact Telstra to confirm your DSL PPPoE account settings.  There should be no other machine (modem or computer) running PPPoE client upon doing this procedure.
Step 1:

Step 2:
Look for the Local IP Address and change it to 192.168.2.1.
NOTE:  If the screen on your router’s web-based setup page looks different, click [ندعوك للتسجيل في المنتدى أو التعريف بنفسك لمعاينة هذا الرابط].
Step 3:
Click  [ندعوك للتسجيل في المنتدى أو التعريف بنفسك لمعاينة هذا الرابط] alt="" /> .
Step 4:
Renew the computer’s IP address.  For instructions, click [ندعوك للتسجيل في المنتدى أو التعريف بنفسك لمعاينة هذا الرابط].
Step 5:
Access the router’s web-based setup page using 192.168.2.1 as the IP address.
Step 6:
On the Setup page, click Status and check if Internet IP Address has numbers or values.
NOTE:  If the Internet IP Address has numbers, the computer should now be able to access the Internet.
NOTE:  If the IP address is all zeroes (0.0.0.0) click [ندعوك للتسجيل في المنتدى أو التعريف بنفسك لمعاينة هذا الرابط] style="width: 143px;height: 23px" alt="" /> first then click [ندعوك للتسجيل في المنتدى أو التعريف بنفسك لمعاينة هذا الرابط] style="width: 138px;height: 23px" alt="" />.  If the IP address is still all zeroes, enable PPPoE on the router.  To enable PPPoE on the router, please follow the instructions below.
Step 7:
Under the Setup tab, set the Internet Connection Type to PPPoE.
Step 8:
Enter the Username and Password that your ISP provided, including the domain in the User Name field if necessary.  For example, “yourusername@isp.net” where isp is the name of your Internet Service Provider.
Step 9:

Step 10:
Click the Status tab then look for Login Status and check if it says Connected.  If it’s connected, you should be able to access the Internet.
